LOCATION

Q: What's the name of the nearest coffee shop and how far is it from the property?
A: The nearest coffee shop is just across the street in Bow Market. Remnant Brewing is no more than a two-minutes from Union 346.

Q: Are there bike trails nearby?
A: The Somerville Community Path is the perfect spot to go for a bike ride. The Union Square area also offers many Blue Bike locations for you to use, or store yours in our large secured bike storage space.

Q: Is there public transportation within close proximity of the buildings?
A: Union 346's location in Somerville puts you at the center of the town and is situated no more than a quarter mile from the new Greenline Extension, connecting Union Square to Downtown Boston. The property is also situated on Somerville Ave, which many buses frequent, heading to Davis Square, Harvard Square, and the rest of Somerville and Cambridge.

Q: What is your community nearby?
A: Union Square is a neighborhood in Somerville, Massachusetts, known for its vibrant arts and culture scene. The area is home to several galleries, performance spaces, and other creative businesses, as well as popular restaurants and bars. Some nearby attractions include the Somerville Theater, the Independent Film Festival of Boston, and the Museum of Bad Art. If you are looking for apartments in Somerville, Union Square is a great place to start your search. The neighborhood has a range of housing options, from historic brownstones to modern apartment buildings. Many of the apartments in the area offer convenient access to public transportation, making it easy to get around the city. Union Square is also a wonderful place to live if you are looking for a lively, dynamic community with a strong sense of culture and history.

Q: How far away is the nearest dog park?
A: Union 346 has its own park for you and your pet! Somerville has many other parks for you and your pet to explore including the redone Prospect Hill Park with sweeping views.

Q: What fees will I need to pay if I must break my lease?
A: A 60-day written notice is required if you are looking to vacate prior to your lease ending. Our termination policy includes payback of any concessions given as well as a lease termination fee.

Q: Can I get a price reduction if I sign a longer lease or pay rent a year in advance?
A: Union 346 may be offering longer lease terms at lower rates that might not be listed online, reach out to the property staff for details.

Q: Does this community offer a bonus if I was referred by one of my friends?
A: We have a resident referral program. If they move in, you will receive a $1,000 credit toward your account. Please contact the property staff to learn more.

Q: Am I required to purchase renter's insurance?
A: We do require renter's insurance at Union 346.

Q: Are there any monthly fees?
A: All the amenities and services are included in your rent. You must pay for your own utilities and pet fees.

Q: What fees will I need to pay if I must break my lease?

Q: Does it cost anything to take a tour?
A: Tours are free of charge, please reach out to the property for details on scheduling one. 

Q: How do I apply for an apartment?
A: Please visit our floor plans page on Union346.com and select the apartment you wish to rent. Click apply and you will be taken to the lease options page and be required to create an account to complete the application. 

Q: How long does it take for an application to be approved?
A: We work to screen and approve applications as quickly as possible. During the week, you can expect to have your application screened and approved within 24 hours. 

Q: Is there any specific advice you can give to a first-time renter?
A: Let us know! Renting your first apartment can seem like a daunting task and we would be more than happy to help walk you through the process and answer any questions you might have. 

Q: What are my options for paying my rent? 
A: After approval, we ask for the move-in costs within 72 hours in certified funds. Certified funds are bank checks and money orders. This cost will include your prorated first month's rent (you can move in any day of the month!), a key and lock fee, prorated extra fees (parking and/or pet), and the security deposit (with approved credit). Your first month's rent deposit given at the time of application will be deducted from this total.

Q: How do I pay my rent online?
A: Rent is due on the 1st of the month, every month. You can pay by personal check, bank check, or money order in person by dropping it off at the on-site Leasing Center. We also offer recurring online payments that you can set up on the online portal by bank account or credit card as well as one-time payments online so you can have the freedom to pay however you would like month to month.

MAINTENANCE

Q: Do you have on-site maintenance?
A: We do have on-site maintenance with 24-hour emergency services. 

Q: An item in my unit needs repair. How do I get help?
A: Please submit a maintenance request through the resident app or call if you have an emergency. 

Q: How are maintenance issues handled?
A: After submitting a request the maintenance staff will coordinate a time with you to complete the work. Depending on the severity, your request may be addressed sooner rather than later. 

Q: Do I have to be present for a service technician to perform work?
A: You may be present during maintenance work, or schedule to have service performed when you are not present. 

Q: What happens if I am locked out?
A: Submit a maintenance request through the app or contact the property by phone and we can help you get access to your apartment. 

Q: Am I allowed to decorate the apartment without penalty?
A: Decorate your home as you wish! But please follow our guidelines regarding fire safety and do not cover sprinklers or smoke detectors.

AMENITIES

Q: What amenities does the property offer?
A: We offer a range of amenities including a 24-hour fitness center, bike storage and repair, pet grooming station, rooftop lounge with firepits, an outdoor grilling station patio, and a green park. Don’t forget about all the local attraction Somerville has to offer including the new Green Line Extension, and Bow Market Across the street. 

Q: Is parking available?
A: We do not have any parking available. Please reach out to us and we'll help you find a local garage for your car or explore available parking spaces on Spacer.

Q: Where are the washer and dryer/hookups?
A: Our apartments are outfitted with all the appliances you need, including private washers and dryers!

Q: Is your community pet friendly?
A: We are pet friendly and have a pet grooming station to keep that four legged friend clean as a whistle! 

Q: What are the fees associated with having pets?
A: Our pet fees can be found on our amenities page.

Q: Are there weight or breed restrictions on pets?
A: We do have weight and breed restrictions, please reach out to the property staff for details. 

Q: Is there a pet park?
A: Union 346 is built with green in mind and has a park out back to give you and your pet some breathing room.

Q: What appliances are standard?
A: Both the studios and one bedroom apartments have the latest and most efficient stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, gas stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and a washer/dryer.

Q: Do you offer Short Term leases?
A: Contact the property to check what lease terms we are offering as they may not be listed on the website. 

Q: If I have a package delivered, will you hold it at the leasing office?
A: Our facility is outfitted with a package room which will notify you of your package's arrival and provide you with access to the room at that time.

Q: What are the hours of the fitness center?
A: Our fitness center is always open!

Q: What type of exercise equipment is available in the gym? 
A: The gym at Union 346 is equipped with cardio machines including bikes and treadmills, along with free weights, cable machines, and more. 

Q: Are there building quiet hours or fees for using communal spaces?
A: While we do not have quiet hours, we ask that our residents be respectful of one another and mindful of noise. We do not charge residents to use the community spaces.
